"Happy Valentine's Day, darling. It's also the weekend...what do you want to do tonight?" my wife asks.
"Just spend time with you! So how about we stay in tonight? I can cook us dinner, light some candles, and I've even rented that new movie you've been dying to see!"
"Oh, Alison, that sounds wonderful! And I've got a suggestion too. To add some fun and romance to the evening, how about I pick out something sexy for you to wear? And you can pick something for me."
"Deal!"
After dinner, we settle down to watch the movie with a bottle of wine. She's looking beautiful in the black teddy I chose. I don't know why, but I love seeing her in it. It always seems to hug her body in just the perfect way.
She picked out a red bra and panty set for me. "I picked red because it's Valentine's Day," she tells me. "Also because you look so natural in red."
About mid-way through the movie (and the bottle of wine), I turn and smile at her lovingly. We start getting a little frisky with each other, and she ends up straddling me on the couch.
"You know, Alison, I have to thank you for the romantic night in. There's no other place I'd rather be right now than here with you. I'm feeling especially generous right now. I'll tell you what...I'm willing to unlock you for just tonight if you want. I'll leave the decision up to you."
As she kisses me and grinds her pelvis against mine, I can tell she wants me to say yes. It's been so long since we've made love like a regular couple. I try to remember the last time, and feel myself growing, filling my cage, a tightness I haven't felt in awhile, as the memories return.
But I also know deep down that I don't really want to be let out. I love her with all my heart, and want to make her happy, but know that those days are behind us.
We share something different now, a special connection that has brought us closer than we ever were before. I don't want to backtrack on this amazing dynamic that we've built.
I tell her as much. At first she's put off, but as we talk I think she begins to understand my point of view. Thankfully she accepts and respects my answer. The last thing I want is a fight on Valentine's Day.
I remind her there are many other fun activities that we can do together besides the one she was hoping for.
"Let's go upstairs and try some," she replies. "I suspect your tongue will be rather busy tonight."
