Trawling on the lake

It's the first time we've been able to get together since the lock down began months ago.  The guys all give me a confused look when they see me.  Their questions start before the boat even leaves the dock.

"Wow, are you growing your hair out?"

"Yeah, well, I haven't been able to make it to the barber yet."

"You've gotten skinny.  Is that on purpose?"

"I've just been living healthier.  You know, eating better and exercising more.  I guess losing weight was a bonus."

"Those shorts are kind of small aren't they?"

"It's been so hot out lately, I'm just trying to stay cool.  Besides, they're pretty comfortable."

"Woah, did you shave your legs?"

"Ha ha, yeah.  I lost a bet to the wife during quarantine.  She reminded me the hair would grow back, so I wasn't too concerned."

But it's amazing how quiet they get when Tom catches a fish and I reach out to pull it into the boat.  Turning around, I see their looks have changed entirely.  

I smile to myself as the realization sinks in.  I turned them all on!
